BURNHAM PARK MASTER PLAN

The town of Morristown is developing a Master Plan for Burnham Park put together by Maser Consulting Engineering with input from Morristown officials, the Shade Tree Commission, BPA, other stakeholders and the public at large. A draft is being refined for presentation at a public meeting in the Park early in 2023.

Public Input

In 2020, the Town of Morristown began formation of a Burnham Park Master Plan, a guidance document for Park maintenance over a 2 to 10 year period depending on the recommendations. Community meetings were held in the Park in 2020 to give stakeholder groups and residents the opportunity to provide input. Attendees included representatives from Morristown and Shade Tree Commission, the BPA, the Engineer from Maser Consulting - the firm drafting the Plan - the Alexander Hamilton Neighborhood Association, Smith Design - providing Adopt the Park stewardship, and the public at large.

On July 18, 2022, members of the BPA board met with Andy Hipolit of Maser Consulting, the lead consultant for development of the Burnham Park Master Plan. He reviewed the progress of the plan and shared his recommended priorities for the 7 planning areas: Entrance / Monuments; Circulation and Connectivity; Playgrounds and Pavilions; The Meadow; The Pool; Ballfields and Parking; the Ponds. Meetings with other stakeholder groups were also held.  The next draft of the Master Plan is scheduled for submittal to the Morristown Town Council in late 2022 / early 2023.
