Jones Woods Invasive Removal

Wild Area Naming Contest

We’re inviting the community to help name the beautiful wetlands and wild space in Burnham Park. Whether it’s creative, nature-inspired, or meaningful to our town, we want to hear your ideas! Submit your suggestions by October 1st here. Finalists will be featured—and the winning name could become part of the park’s future signage!
Featured Event: Vote YES for the 2025 Morristown Open Space Trust Fund
For Morristown residents - Morristown is one of very few area municipalities without an Open Space Trust Fund (OSTF). The OSTF adds a very small open space tax (a penny per $100 valuation, so a $600,000 home would pay $60) to provide dedicated annual revenue to the Town to not only purchase open space but also to maintain it. This could dramatically help Morristown in the maintenance of its 16 parks (and even help implement the Master Plan in Burnham Park sooner). Having an OSTF also entitles a municipality to access currently unavailable federal and state grants, often on an expedited basis...thus leveraging the Town's ability to move forward with projects for its parks.
